Before drilling was a common practice, early humans perforated objects by "pecking" at them with harder materials or slowly scraping out a hole. This method leaves uniquely beautiful abrasion marks on the final product. The Etched Necklace was inspired by this process, each charm was hand carved in wax using a similar method before being cast in metal.
