Oolite Collection

A mini collection of completely natural black and grey oolites. Each stone was carefully chosen for it's distinct pattern, defined shapes, and dramatic composition.

Oolites can be composed of many different minerals, the specimens used in this collection all have a high chalcedony content which is why they are able to be cut and polished for use in jewelry. Oolitic limestone is much more common and has been used to construct many buildings. I have named the necklaces in this collection after some of the more notable ones.
